What to expect
My pride in my work is when I capture authentic emotions and true connection within my photos. We may adventure, I may tell a bad joke to make you smile, or I may make funny noises to get your pet's ears and eyes on me, I might even climb a tree or lay in some mud to get that perfect angle. I am all about capturing nuance and detail, not stiff formal studio portraits. I want to make art out of raw moments.
My job is to capture you, your pet, your family, or whatever moves you to the best of my ability. I will strive to find what makes you "tick" so I can attempt to see the world through your eyes while I capture the shot. I ask that you not compare yourselves to others, my goal is to empower YOU, regardless of shape, size, style, or clothing. I am accepting of ALL sexual/gender identities, any form of love, races, abilities, shapes, cultures, and beliefs- and I am not afraid to say it!
Location
The location will not be at my business address on my card/invoice (unless discussed beforehand). Please don't show up here on the day of our shoot or you will be greeted by two dogs, three cats, thirteen chickens, three geese, four sheep, and two goats- and they'll expect you to have treats!
Prior to our session we will discuss the location of our shoot so that we can best fit what you'd like to capture. I am also more than happy to come to you! Please note that, unless explicit written permission is given to me by the landowner, I am unable to shoot on private property. I recommend parks, hiking trails, and community areas. I am happy to hike and adventure. If you'd like to visit multiple locations during your session please let me know in advance so we can plan accordingly.
Weather
Certain weather conditions make for better shooting and lighting opportunities. If you're looking for an artsy and dynamic shop there is no substitute for the golden light of a setting sun. Grey skies and clouds can create some dynamic shots with diffuse light, so don't fret if the skies are grey! Harsh sun can be difficult to work in (squinting and contrasting shadows) so it's best to find a slightly shaded location. Unless your specific shot calls for rain, it may be best to reschedule those days. I love the cold so I am able to shoot all winter, as long as you are comfortable. I can add falling snow as I edit as well, so don't fret if you aren't getting those gorgeous falling flakes on the day of. Rescheduling due to weather is at my discretion and we will move your non-refundable retainer to a mutually agreed upon date.
Turn around time
I know waiting is hard, and waiting for images of your session can be even harder! That's why I have SAME DAY sneak peeks available on my Facebook page in most cases. Typically turn-around times for a full shoot is about four weeks. For larger shoots (weddings/events) and during busy season (fall) that may be extended to six weeks. I ALWAYS strive for sooner. Editing does take time, and some stylized shots may require more editing than others
Do download your image by the date specified. After several months I only retain photos that I wish to use in my portfolio. I will be unable to access photos after that date in most cases!

Once your gallery of digital proofs are ready you can order digitals and prints. Each package has a set amount of digital images included. Extra high quality digital images are available for an additional cost (specified in your invoice). I do offer discounts for bulk purchases!
You'll be able to purchase prints (framed & matted available), canvases, and other photo products as well! Just let me know what you're looking for! I have multiple printing lab options, including a GREAT local printer located in Washington, Vermont. Held in the Moment Photography offers excellent printing surfaces and as a photography business themselves, they understand the need to accurately represent and preserve your memories! Please note, I am not responsible for prints not obtained through my sources. While you may print with your own vendor I am unable o vouch for quality and do not recommend photo kiosks.
Photo Usage
These photos are yours to share non-commercially unless otherwise specified in your contract. Each session delivery will come with a print release indicating the full usage options. Please note, that I retain the intellectual property and copyright in perpetuity. Wherever possible, I do ask that you link/tag my page when shared (and it could lead to a referral discount for you at your next session if your friends book with me (See details below)). I do ask that you do not edit my work or claim as your own. If you would like an edit, please let me know, most small edits are covered by your package fee! Please contact me for commercial rates.
Referrals
The best praise you can give me is referring me to your friends! Please let your friend to mention that you referred them (or saw your images) and I am happy to discount your next session!

FAQ
Where are you located?
I am in Fletcher, Vermont and will travel within 50 miles included in your session fee and $.75 for every mile after. I love to travel, and will do destination sessions at my regular rate if lodging/transport is provided.
Can I order a session that isn't listed?
Certainly! Please contact me to discuss a custom photo session. I am -always- down for adventure and trying new things!
Can I order more digitals than what is included?
Of course! Additional edited and full quality images are available for purchase. Expect $10 per image typically. Discounts available for bulk and entire gallery purchases!
What is the best time to do a session?
You know that first hour or two after sunrise and the last hour or two before sunset? That's called Golden hour, and it creates the most amazing and dreamy light. I tend to shoot evenings (I'm not very pretty in the mornings) and daytime.
Do I have to order prints through you?
Ordering through your personal online gallery is secure and easy. I use a professional printing lab, so your prints will be top quality and last for years to come. I also have local printing options. All additional digital image purchases will come with a photo release.
Can I extend the session on the day of?
If my schedule allows, yes. There will be an additional fee assessed per hour as outlined in your invoice. We will discuss beforehand too!
What about outfit changes?
With the exception of the mini sessions (1/2) all sessions allow for two outfits. Beyond that a $10 fee will be assessed as an outfit change requires new settings/editing and of course, time! Please discuss beforehand!
What kind of gear do you use?
I shoot with a Nikon gear. My primary camera is a Nikon D500. I shoot dual cards for added client image protection!
Where can we shoot?
I can come to you or we can find public land to shoot. I have lots of ideas!
For legal reasons, I am unable to shoot on private land without written permission. If permit fees apply the client is responsible to pay as part of their session.
What if I need to rescehdule?
If the weather is poor we will reschedule based on our mutual availability and my discretion.
If you need to cancel, please note that once booked, I hold the date for you. If you need to reschedule I will do my best to accommodate you within my schedule. If we are unable to reschedule than the session than the booking fee is non-refundable as the date was blocked for other clients. Refer to your contract for further details.
When will my gallery be ready?
I know that you are excited for your photos. Rest assured I am working to ensure that quality and artistic style meet. I always advise a four week turnaround time but strive to have them done sooner! Sneak Peaks are available on Facebook within 24 hours. For more info refer to the "What to Expect" page.
Can I share your photos of my session?
Yes, and I encourage it! Any photos that you have purchased are yours to share (non-commercially)! It is wonderful when you can tag me, but not required. Please do not screenshot images from your gallery proofs until you have purchased them. Contact me for commercial use.
Can I have EVERY photo from my wedding or unlimited session?
I understand that memories are important. However, not every image the camera takes is retained. Repetitive images, ones deemed to have quality flaws, or where subjects were not looking are not delivered. These photos are culled at the time of import as they are not deemed to not be of quality fit for delivery. I do my best to cover each moment (please refer to your contract) and will of course include any available multiples from special moments.
Can I have the RAW files?
No, releasing a RAW image would be like presenting a half completed painting, a film negative, or receiving raw chicken at a restaurant. RAW images, by nature of the file type and program requirements, are not released to clients. The final product is the photograph with retouching, color toning, and finishing touches. Passing off a RAW image is not representative of my final work and will not be shared. Photography is an art form, and the art is in how you compose AND edit your shot. Commercial licensing is available by request prior to a shoot for RAW images.
Will you come with me to my next event?
Yes! I am available to capture every detail of your show. Whether it be a sporting event, horse show, or a race. I know what events are like, having spent years competing. Details are lost and you regret not having a special moment or the small nuances captured. Let me document your day! Rates are hourly and travel/board fees may apply.
Are digital images from an event refundable?
Unfortunately, no. By nature digital images are non-refundable. Unlike a print which can be returned or exchanged a digital image cannot. Please ensure the images you purchase are your final selection. If additional edits are requested please reach out to me for a quote prior to purchase. I cannot guarantee quality of a print from a purchase digital unless it is through my professional photo lab, though you are welcome to print/share for personal and non-profit use. If you are unsatisfied with your purchase please contact me.
Do you use contracts?
Always! I will not shoot until a contract and applicable releases are signed. Contracts protect you as much as me and set the expectations for the shoot. My contracts are Lawyer drafted. If the model is under 18 by law I require signature by their legal guardian. Contracts will be sent digitally and you will receive a copy. Please let me know if you prefer hardcopy signatures.
